SuMMIT stands for the Supportability Maintenance Management Information Tool. This technology supports the Maritime Expeditionary Warfare (MEW) community by streamlining and improving Logistics and Sustainment Engineering processes. It does this by consolidating and integrating widespread data, and enabling users to access, visualize and evaluate system performance metrics.
MAKING SENSE OF DATA SETS
SuMMIT helps to understand the drivers and effects of change related to system Reliability, Availability and Maintainability. SuMMIT takes data sets that are currently unseen, misunderstood or in need of cleansing, and makes them accessible to users for evaluation and analysis with the intent to evolve the current state of provisioning, maintenance, and sustainment to a highly responsive and cost-effective level. This functionality enables effective decision-making. Within MEW systems lifecycle management, SuMMIT functions as the day-to-day interface for data management and collaboration, providing visualization, analysis, and data search capabilities for analysis of problem causes. It also provides best-case resolutions for affordable system operational effectiveness across the entirety of the systems lifecycle.

The process we followed to rapidly bring a solution to the customer to garner feedback (an Agile principle) was key to drawing out the knowledge necessary to developing an innovative and applicable solution.
