- His experiences as PEO Littoral and Mine Warfare, PEO Ships, Chief of Naval Research and Director Defense Security Cooperation Agency provide an ideal background for supporting the interests of SimVentions
- He has served as a member of the Board of Directors in several small and mid-size defense companies
- Bachelors of Science degree in Systems Engineering from the US Naval Academy
- Masters of Science degree in Systems Technology (C4I) from the Naval Postgraduate School
- Graduate of the Program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School
- 1998-1999 Navy Fellow in the Defense Systems Management College, Military Research Fellowship Program
