The 2014 3rd Annual STEM Summit was held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on March 29. Our region’s students, educators, and businesses came together to explore the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM). This exciting free event was held at UMW’s Anderson Center. SimVentions was a Gold Sponsor to this exciting event. Other sponsors included the University of Mary Washington, Lockheed Martin, the Central Rappahannock Regional Library and others. The event included about 75 STEM-related booths and Technology Demonstrations (including Robotics & Lasers). The keynote speaker was Dr. Missy Cummings, Director of Humans and Autonomy Lab, and Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science, Duke University and a leading authority on drone technologies and human-machine collaboration. She is also one of the U.S. Navy’s first female fighter pilots.
