SimVentions Celebrates 10th Annual Day of Service

SimVentions proudly celebrated its 10th Annual Day of Service, demonstrating a robust commitment to community engagement in Fredericksburg, King George, Locust Grove, Virginia Beach, and Huntsville, AL. This year’s initiative included a wide array of volunteer activities and donation drives for local organizations such as the Washington Heritage Museum, Valor Ranch, Loisann’s Hope House, Beauty for Ashes, Servants at Work (SAWs® VA), Samaritan House (Virginia Beach), and Sleep in Heavenly Peace (Huntsville).

On October 14th, volunteers gathered in Fredericksburg, while earlier in the month, teams in Huntsville and Virginia Beach joined forces at Sleep in Heavenly Peace and the Samaritan House, respectively. A standout moment from the day involved the restoration of the brick walls surrounding the Mary Washington Monument, a historic tribute dedicated in 1894 to George Washington’s mother. This effort underscored SimVentions’ commitment to preserving local heritage.

At Valor Ranch, a nonprofit providing recreational therapy for injured military personnel, SimVentions volunteers revitalized “The Chicken Village,” a beloved space for veterans and their families. Their colorful makeover aimed to enhance the village’s welcoming atmosphere. Shea, who participated with her children, reflected on the impact of the day: “The sense of teamwork and shared purpose was palpable. Moments like these remind me of the power of service and how it renews not just the places we help, but our own spirits as well.”

Volunteers also infused a festive spirit into Loisann’s Hope House, Fredericksburg’s oldest family homeless shelter, which has been serving the community for over 30 years. Their creative efforts transformed the shelter into a vibrant haven for families in need. Jillian shared her feelings about the importance of giving back, stating, “To know that they aren’t forgotten, that they are in someone’s heart and prayers, is what matters.”

Eight dedicated employees worked alongside staff and residents at Beauty for Ashes, a women’s home in Fredericksburg. They undertook various outdoor projects, including power washing walkways, scrubbing fences, and landscaping, embodying SimVentions’ motto: “Your Success is Our Honor.” Eric, a veteran who volunteered at Valor Ranch, expressed his gratitude, noting, “As a veteran, it was an honor and pleasure to provide services for the non-profit.”

In partnership with Servants at Work (SAWs®), volunteers built a wheelchair ramp for a local family, enhancing independence and accessibility. This faith-based nonprofit is committed to empowering individuals with permanent disabilities through essential projects.

In Virginia Beach, SimVentions employees revitalized the entrance of the Samaritan House, which has supported victims of domestic violence and homelessness since 1984. Their work reinforced the organization’s mission of fostering safety, growth, and self-sufficiency for families in crisis.

In Huntsville, volunteers collaborated with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a nonprofit focused on ensuring that no child sleeps on the floor. They helped build and deliver beds to families in need, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to providing comfort and security for children.

This year’s Day of Service exemplifies SimVentions’ dedication to making a positive impact in the community. Through their collective efforts, employee-owners showcased a heartfelt commitment to creating a brighter future for their neighbors.
