Fredericksburg, VA, 04-13-2023: SimVentions is pleased to announce the promotions of Mr. Matt Wilson to Corporate Vice President (VP) of Strategic Initiatives and Mr. Tram Chase to VP of the Technology Solutions Group (TSG). Mr. Wilson will be responsible for supporting corporate-level investments and growth strategies. Mr. Chase will provide leadership and oversight for SimVentions’ TSG programs and projects.
Matt has a B.S. in math and computer science from Mary Washington College (now the University of Mary Washington). He has been the Group Vice President (GVP) of TSG since 2013. He has more than doubled that group’s size and impact while contributing to SimV’s overall growth and development. As GVP, he led and directed TSG by overseeing an exceptional team of leaders, software engineers, application engineers, and analysts across a range of SimVentions-developed tools, services, and technologies.
In his new role, Matt will focus on identifying, supporting, and/or leading corporate-level investments and growth strategies. These include (but are not limited to) corporate campaigns, acquisitions, and nearer-term business development activities. He will also remain engaged in the technical work we are executing. “Matt’s promotion to VP of Strategic Initiatives is well deserved! His 10+ years’ experience of successfully running and growing SimVentions’ TSG will be invaluable as he takes on this new role of identifying, supporting, and leading corporate-level investments and growth strategies.” says Larry Root, SimVentions’ Chief Executive Officer.
Tram joined SimVentions in 2004 as a software developer with a B.S. in mathematics from Virginia Tech. Tram brings a deep understanding of the projects in TSG, having either written, worked on, led, or consulted on nearly all of them over the past 19 years. His technical acumen is bolstered by a care for the people and teams around him while consistently focused on delivering value to the customer.
Tram has over 25 years of experience with software and systems engineering. Before his promotion to GVP, Tram was the Director of the Transformational Technologies Team and provided program management and leadership across most programs. He is currently either the Program Manager (PM) for or is providing leadership to programs like Simulation Interoperability Model Optimization Repository (SIMOR), Dexter, Workload Assessment Notification and Demand Alert (WANDA), Supportability Maintenance Management Information Tool (SuMMIT), Informedb, and Mission Task Analysis Tool (MTAT). His technical expertise and his program and contract management knowledge have successfully transitioned Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIRs) to Phase II awards. He has developed multiple solutions for Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, the United States Marine Corps, Modeling and Simulation Enterprise (formally Defense Modeling and Simulation Coordination Office), and the United States Air Force.
“Tram’s technical and leadership expertise will be valuable to continue the success of the ongoing work as well as driving the strategy forward to expand our work into new customers and markets.” says Megan Shepherd, SimVentions’ Chief Operating Officer.
