Fredericksburg, VA, 04-10-2023: SimVentions is pleased to announce a partnership with the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) through the execution of a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA). This CRADA enables both SimVentions and NSWCDD to leverage resources and collaborate on common areas of research and development.
A shared goal of the Navy and SimVentions is to accomplish today’s missions and meet tomorrow’s challenges. This CRADA builds on this shared mindset and fosters collaboration on several common areas of interest for both NSWCDD and SimVentions. This includes furthering the use of Autonomous System Solutions, the use of Digital Engineering to support rapid development, mission planning, testing, and training using technology like eXtended Reality (XR) and AI/ ML.
SimVentions and NSWCDD continue to invest in AI/ML, UxV, and eXtended Reality (XR)-based Digital Engineering efforts. This CRADA will extend the value of these investments to both organizations.
“One of the things we’ve been intentional about over the last ten years is to put a greater focus on research and development (R&D). It starts with needs – the needs of the decision makers and warfighters we support,” said Paul Gustavson, chief technology officer, SimVentions.
Joe Caliri, President of SimVentions adds, “The value and importance of NSWCDD in its contributions to today’s Navy is significant. Leveraging each other’s capabilities and investments increases shared knowledge – and shared knowledge is a catalyst for innovation.”
