SimVentions is excited to announce our sponsorship of Fredericksburg Fire FC. Fredericksburg Fire is a professional indoor soccer team joining the Major Arena Soccer League 3. With so many fans of the game at SimV, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to show our support.
SimV’s love for the game runs deep, as our very own William Augsberger and Eric Jennings were signed to the Fire in their inaugural season. William Augsberger is currently a Test Engineer at SimV and attended Virginia Wesleyan University, where he served as team captain for the Marlins. Upon graduation, William returned to Fredericksburg and took on the role of coach for his old club team, FSCI Phoenix. Eric Jennings, who is a Technical Lead for SimV, previously played for the University of Mary Washington’s club team. After college, Eric moved to Northern Virginia and played for Conquistadors in the Washington Premier League.
Fredericksburg Fire’s first game took place against the Baltimore Kings at the Fredericksburg Field House on Saturday, January 15th. Fire took home the win, with a final score of 9-7. SimV’s Eric Jennings got the first assist in team history. Jennings said, “We’re super excited for where this season is going to take us. I’m proud to be a part of the first professional soccer team Fredericksburg has had since the Generals and just taking it one game at a time!”
