SimVentions Named to Best Places to Work in Virginia List for 8th Time!

Fredericksburg, VA., 11-19-2020: SimVentions, Inc. was recently named one of the 2021 Best Places to Work in Virginia!  The annual list of the Best Places to Work in Virginia was created by Virginia Business and Best Companies Group. SimVentions has now won this award eight times, in all three categories: small, mid-size, and large company categories.

This statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Virginia, benefiting the state’s economy, workforce, and businesses. The 2021 Best Places to Work in Virginia list is made up of 100 companies. To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity;
  • Be a publicly or privately held business;
  • Have a facility in the state of Virginia;
  • Have at least 15 employees working in the state of Virginia; and
  • Must be in business a minimum of one year.

In a year where COVID-19, social injustices and unrest, and a contentious presidential election brought the business community huge challenges which have taken all we have just to keep our heads above water, we are honored to be recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Virginia! Although this is the eighth year for us to receive this award, no year has been more meaningful than this one. We worked hard to successfully transition our work force to a predominately telework/at-home work force, ensuring everyone remained safe, fully employed, and covered by health insurance. We quickly adapted and leveraged technology to support virtual teams, providing many of our employees the ability to remain focused and empowered as they served our customers remotely. For those employees, because of our support to the Department of Defense (DoD), that were considered essential and still needed to travel to the offices, labs, military bases, and remote sites (both in country and overseas), we became early adopters of DoD, CDC, state, and local government recommended guidelines and practices. And, during all of this, our amazing employees still found creative ways to stay engaged with each other and our communities – helping us to keep, and in fact, strengthen, our corporate culture! There is no one more important to us than our employees (and their families), and no one more important to our employees than our customers (and ultimately our warfighters). Companies from across the state enter the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Virginia. The first part consists of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. This part of the process is worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consists of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process is worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determine the top companies and the final ranking, which will be revealed in the new year. The Best Companies Group manages the overall registration and survey process in Virginia, analyzes the data, and uses their expertise to determine the final ranking.
