On Thursday evening, June 28th 2018, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, SimVentions hosted their sixth annual “Rise Against Hunger” event. Over 130 SimVentions’ employees, customers, families, friends, and business neighbors joined together to put a dent in the problem of world hunger by packaging 20,736 meals in just 2 hours! This brings the grand total of meals packaged by SimVentions over all six events/years to an incredible 143,454!

As an added surprise, actress Sally Struthers, currently appearing in “ALWAYS… PATSY CLINE” at Fredericksburg’s Riverside Center for the Performing Arts (which is directly across the street from SimVentions Corporate Headquarters where the Rise Against Hunger event was taking place), along with Producing Artistic Director Patrick A’Hearn, took time out to come across the street and cheer on the volunteers and praise their efforts.

“Ms. Struthers literally gave each person a hug – one at a time – yes, all 130+ volunteers – telling each one that they are a ‘hidden angel’ to the folks who will eventually receive the meals being packaged! In the crazy times in which we live – it is so encouraging to see folks come together and live out the golden rule ‘to do unto others as you would have them do unto you!’ ” said Larry Root, SimVentions CEO.
